Hey, guitar heroes! Please help a novice with this one:
What are the basic chords to the main chorus and verse of Bob Neary's song for kids, "Trees Trees Trees?"
I've searched the internet high and low to absolutely no avail!
Can anyone help? I'd like to teach a group of cub scouts this catchy tune which tells of the importance of being environmentally responsible human beings.
(For anyone not familiar with the track, you can hear an excerpt here:http://cdbaby.com/cd/bobneary2I hadn't heard any of his songs before ... my excuse is that I'm on the other side of the world!)
TREES, TREES, TREES (key of E)
Chorus
A / / / E / / / B / / / E / / /
A / / / E / / / B / / / A B E / / /
Verse
E / / / B / / / E / / / B / / /
E / E7 / A / F#m / B / / / B / / /
N.B. (i) These are the chords in their most basic form. Substitute B7's for B's ad lib. Also E7's when they're leading to A's.
(ii) Might be easier in this key with a capo on the 2nd fret. You'd then play the song as if it were in D. (Do you need the transposition?)
(iii) For a "guitarmom" leading treble-voiced boys, a key such as A or C might be easier. See below.
(iv) Watch out for the "cowboy bar" (2/4 "A B") towards the end of the chorus. Of course, you can wait as long as you like on the E before launching into the next verse.
