I`ve been teaching myself how to play the piano, but as I look around these forums...It seems that many people are reccomending teachers. What do you think? And do you have any advice for me? I`ve been playing it for a little under a year now.

You definitely need a teacher. They can hear what you do wrong like your rythm and stuff that you don`t catch.

you would move ten times faster with a teacher then without. you will likely, without, develope bad technique which can give you serious problems. if you only want to play like popular pieces... then i dont think lessons are really nessicary as long as you understand the rythm... even if you cant.. there`s always theory you could do. If you actually want to play tough pieces eventually .... ide deffinitly take lessons.
