The pitch of the piano is exactly the same as a keyobard- the only differences are, a piano has 88 keys, whereas a keyboard has less, so the really high notes and the really low notes on a piano won't be there to play on a keyboard.

Another difference is that the keys on a piano are weighted - which makes them harder to play....so if your used to playing a keyboard, the piano might take a little time to adjust to.

And the last thing that I know of, isn't really an issue....piano's have pedals which make notes longer and softer, but nowadays you get get pedals that attach to a keyboard anyway, so that doesn't matter!!

I'm learning to play the piano, and at the moment I only have a keyboard at home....sometimes I can't play some pieces because my keyboard doesn't have notes low enough, but it isn't really a problem!!

Hope I was of use to you, and good luck with your musical intrument learning!!!

Thank you!!

Just thought I'd show you this diagram....it's the range of most standard keyboards, in case you didn't know (sorry if you already know!!), so these are the lowest and highest notes you'll be able to play. So you can look out for pieces within these ranges!!!

Hope that helps!!!

ps - most pieces I've come across are within keyboard ranges!

Keyboard and piano playing is almost alike except for some facts, the notes are presented the same way but in keyboards, the actual notes produced can be altered, depending on the settings.
