My rendition of Bach's Prelude No 1 is gradually edging away from being riddled with mistakes, to being, merely, liberally festooned with them.
I had a play with the camcorder, and got the video that can be viewed from my profile page. The sound quality isn't great, and the piano needs a tune, but's undistorted and pretty clear.
Comments invited on playing, technique, etc. As a matter of interest, and in the hope of setting a reference point, if a student played this piece to this standard, what grade would that student likely be?
My background: Adult beginner on piano, but with 30 years on guitar. Self-taught, own material. Had a piano for a while when a kid but no lessons. Messed about on keyboards and synths occasionally over the years. Started playing piano with intent five months ago, and couldn't read until then.

Meant to say: No lessons on piano yet - self-taught on that so far.

In australia, AMEB grading for that piece would be 3rd grade. Its good to know that your self teaching yourself, most teachers out there are just there to take your money instead of teaching you.
