I really like Rachmaninoff's music, my favorite one from him is the Piano Concerto no2. One that I like that is still living is Yiruma and my favorite one he plays is River flows in You. Not sure if this counts but I love to watch Josh Groban play piano but he's more of a singer!

George Winston, Scott Joplin, and Beethoven. (Gotta love Moonlight Sonata.)

Oops! Piano PLAYER I just read the post properly. So Chopin is my favourite COMPOSER and I would say that Wilhelm Kempff is the favourite piano player. So far. I haven't heard enough though!

Well, Chopin was renowned as a performer. However, I think it's unlikely you ever got the chance to see him perform!

thanks Edski; I really do need to start reading the questions better! This is always my problem in my exams at school. It will be the death of me.

For me for the classics,, its beethoven..For international,,its Vanessa Carlton and Michelle Branch..They were really my idol when I was a little when it comes to playing the piano. I really like their songs. Especially Ordinary day and I'll always be right there.

Composers who I really admire and prefer the most...Tchaikovsky and Chopin.
I also like most of Russian composers like Sergei Prokofiev,Nikolai Rimsky and Aram Khachaturian because Bumblebee Flight, Montagues&Capulets and Sabre Dance inspire me.

<Added>

For piano players hmmm...Vladimir Horowitz?

I would have to say Tim Baley. He is a musical savant. He can listen to a piece of classical music one time, and play it on the piano. Amazing! check him out timbaley.com

Hmmm, David Lanz? Does that count? I love the fact that his songs are difficult enough but yet not to overwhelming. For me anyway
