if you can play those pieces at age 13, you could be able to go onto television, at least record a video, let`s see some proof.

Lets not forget the fact that he can play the winterwind etude by chopin, which is even more difficult and impressive, The silly little liar. If hes that good why is he not on young musician of the year or something, in actual fact hes probably 40 something, even if he isnt, could he play these advanced pieces well or to concert standard? doubt it.

I am fed up with show offs who are so unmodest about their playing level, these people want others to get jealous, its so annoying. I have heard so much rubbish on this forum, for example: people have said that the fantasie impromptu by Chopin is a beginners piece; Rachmaninoffs famous prelude in c sharp minor is not hard at all; and lizsts hungarian rhaposody no.2 is not that hard either; RUBBISH!!

Go brag somewhere else, people want to learn and read something useful here.

i agree with the last post, the point of this forum is to obtain information. Not for some 40 year old to satisfy their ego by getting people to admire them.
Keep it to yourself
On topic, I`ve been playing from 4...im 14 now and just started the 3rd movement...the hardest part would have to be the octave trills on second page or so...

Great stuff so far....does anyone know the exact timing of when to come in off the final trill into the huge run of grace notes? (and still keeep proper time for that measure). It`s after the upwards chromatic scale several measures from the end.

Thanks all

2 against 3 is simple if you think of it in 6/8. the `2` happens on beats 1 and 3 and the `3` happens on beats 1, 3, and 5.
1 2 3 4 5 6
* 2 - - 2 - -
3 - 3 - 3 -
*the first 2 is with the first 3,the second 2 is between the last two threes.

I just started playing the piano 2 months ago. In the first 5 weeks I managed to complete the Revolutionary Etude by Chopin without mistakes and am on my way to completing the C# minor by Rachmaninoff. I think the key to being able to play any piece is to practice incredibly hard and even if someone does not have lessons, as long as they follow the fingerings exactly, they should be able to play the piece eventually. It`s not the time over which you have spent learning the piece, it`s the hours you put into it and how often you make the effort to practice. Nothing`s impossible if you put your mind to it.

Ohh...
If u could have accomplished these pieces DECENTLY within that time frame...
Then, I think Rome must be built in one day...
I`m sick of reading posts about people playing this and that in how many months and so on. Come on, Music is not a race.
And what does the term ` able to play` mean to u?
Play correct notes or struggling with no false notes or?
And Rachel, if u`ve done Brahms`s Rhapsodies or Liszt, wouldn`t u have known about Beethoven Moonlight sonata way b4 that? And wouldn`t u have known that it is definately not as easy as u make it out to be?
And, if u`ve already done Liszt or Alkan or whoever and so on, wouldn`t it come NOT as a suprise that of course with reasonable practice, that u can handle Moonlight`s 3rd movement?
So, what`s the big deal about u being able to play and misleadingly dismissing the music as easy then?
And as somebody has rightfully stated, that this is a forum intended to provide people with discern information... so, don`t go passing your ignorant remarks on a site like this.
Thank you.

I know this may be off topic slightly (i.e having a go at people who arent modest about their talent) but i only have the music for the first movement. Infact, i have never seen the music for the 3rd movement. Is there any chance someone could show me what i am missing? And would it be easy to find this online or would it be simpler to just go out and buy it? I would really like to see how hard it is. Please help.
Many thanks.
