Hey everyone I just got a new peice for concert band, and it had a part for mark tree. None of the precusionists have heard of it, and neither has the conductor. Does anyone know what one is?

A mark tree is a small stran of chimes that go from big to small you can play it with a small wond or with the tip of your fingers.

R u sure kevin? I think you`re getting mark tree confused with chime tree or windchimes.

thanks guys, it turns out kevins right, its jsut another name for wind chimes or a chime tree, why did the people who wrote that song use that termonology? I don`t know.

Mark Stevens invented the Mark Tree in 1967. the Mark tree is also known as Bar Chimes, Wind chimes or bell tree none of these is the correct term It is used in a varity of music

It's like a set of wind chimes that have a variety of musical pitches on them. You normally can play it with your hand or a drum stick.
