I would have to say the best sticks I have used are the 2.50 pairs you get out of the stick buckets at any local music store. They usually do the best grip and sound and are usually weighted better than most brand name sticks I've usued. But, no stick compared to vic firth. I've used many vic firth sticks and my favorite is the silver metal tenor sticks. Silverfox is another good brand but they only do marching sticks and make their sticks shorter and stubbier than most.
Zildjian drumsticks are not worth 6 pesos.

Played with a VF 5B for awhile, but now I'm using a painted stick with a smaller, rounder head. Not sure about the brand or size.
