so i play 3rd bass in my highschools drum line, and next year there will be 2 snare spots open. i was wanting to get one of those spots. what should i work on to make it. i know the exercises, cadences, warmups etc. what else should i work on to get the spot?

speed, evening out your strokes, put like a quarter in the center of your practice pad and trace around it, then try and play all the warmups and keep in that little circle. that is what our instructor did.
but why leave bas???

try learning a few solos from "the rudemental cookbook" by: edward freytag.

funky fat is a good one.
