I don't know any websites, and I can't play timpani for my life, but I'm fluent in all other percussion intruments, and as far as the xylophone and bells, marimba, wibes, etc...it's set up the same as a piano, if that helps at all. Oh my gosh. can you say run-on sentence?

if you want to find out how to play keyboards then look in an essential elements book or ask your band director. for timpani i have only played with 5 drums in 2 songs and i think there are more so i wouldnt know that much, but i do know.....

Bass Clef- 20"- E to C
23"- D to A(on staff)
26"- B flat to F
29"- F to C
32"- D to A(below staff)

Well, can you read in treble and bass clefs? Viola is in tenor, isn't it? Make sure you can read the grand staff! If you play piano, it should be easy, because keyboard percussion instruments are set up the same way a piano is.

Good luck! I was in pit percussion last year, and it was pretty fun.

pit is so much fun at my skool. at band camp we get to play in this room people call the "freezer" while everyone else is out in the heat. i am on both the drum line and the pit.

If you can play the piano, then you can play any keyboard percussion instrument. As far as Timpani, ask for private lessons. Dont look out of a book or something because your skills will only be limited to a certain type of beginner technique.
