Hey, peoples. I used to play drums, but i never really got far. now, i think i may want to give it another chance. any suggestions on how i may get myself started?

<Added>

btw, i already play clarinet and bassoon, so i can still read music. i don't think taking lessons will be an option for me.

i read your problem Aj9090, and all i have to say its that dont worry how it sounds at first, and dont worry how loud it is, but consider your neighbors. What i mean is that just keep going without worries, none is expert as soon as started. AND try easy music at first, and try it slowly, then speed up and so on. Well, good luck!

ps:if you get good or play another instrumnet, reply to me considering joining my band that im planning to make.

well, i was actually more or less talking about 1 drum (you know, like the kind you march with). i'm not thinking about doing percussion in our marching band because clarinet is my instrument, but just for myself. i like the quads, and that's what i was thinking about. i know that quads take a lot of coordination, but i think i could handle it with practice.

so that brings me back to my original question...how would i go about getting started (w/o lessons). i also considered snare, which would be a little easier to get my hands on than quads, but i just like quads better.

hey, i read your problem, and I'm a kit player but I rekn the best way to learn if your not prepared to take proper lessons is probably cyber lessons I know theres lots on kit, and I've seen snare, but I bet theres some stuff on quads, so I think you should look into just googling it. Good Luck.

here , this isn't great, but it's got some videos that might help when you've gotten better at quads. http://www.vicfirth.com/education/tenors/quadlogic/bachman.html

i've looked, but so far the only thing I could find is the one that you've already given me. I haven't found anything for complete beginners. One of my friends said he would help me out a few times and teach me a few things, but nothing serious.
