Hi,
I`m new to the world of percussion -clarinet has been my main instrument to date.
I`ve just bought a glockenspiel to play for a bit of variety.
Do any of you play the glockenspiel ???
If so can you recommend a method book to me please ???
Thanks
Sue

a friend of my parents gave me a glockenspiel, but i have yet to see another like it. it`s mounted verically in a lyre-shaped frame that stands on a short pole. is this an old style and they just don`t make them like anymore or what? the one the percussion section had in high school band were horizontal and not on poles.

yep... I did, then a clarinet player dropped out, and I got moved to clarinet... It`s really similar to the piano, but you have to alternate mallets after every note, which sucks... I prefer piano... umm... It`s very easy to learn the notes it just goes in alphebetical order to G then starts over.. and then the keys that are lifted would be your sharp and flats.. half step up is a sharp and half step down is a flat... I prefer clarinet, glockenspiel was easy compared to the clarinet...
