Hi! M'pretty much just a lurker down at the flute forums (guilty as charged of being a flute geek), but my significant other owns a really beat-up, frumpy looking sax which he pretty much hates.

He really rocks though, and can manage some pretty amazing things on an instrument in such bad shape. I also suspect that the sax itself, even new, wouldn't be worth much, but seeing as I know next to nothing about saxophone (aside from their being larger & considerably "golder" than your average flute... ahem), I was just wondering if you guys could voice an opinion or two on whether he should have it repaired, try to sell it, or just completely trash it?

The make seems to be Andre Bardot, but I can find no model or serial number. It pretty much looks like trash, but I just want to make sure.

Have to see the saxophone to tell you what you can do.
Can you take a picture of it and post it?

Uploaded a few pictures of the thing in question. Don't mind the weird green stuff, my digital cam is going insane on me.

It might be crap, but there's no actual mold on the thing. o_O Honest.

Not familiar with the brand, but it's definitley worth taking to a tech. It's got a high f# key so it's not a student model horn. Take it in and have someone drop a leak light in it to begin with and go from there. I'd definitley keep the horn though.

dewey student horns do have a f# key even the older brands so it could be a student horn.

I'd definitly keep it, it looks like a potential keeper. My best guess would be that it is a stencil horn, but obviously no one around here had heard of that brand, so It might be somethen more.
