Hi I haved recently switched from clarinet to sax and I am having success in the switch. But, my sax has no high F# key and i just cannot seem to obtain any notes over F. Any suggestions to help me. Also I have an Armstrong Elkhart Ind. Alto sax and would like to know if anyone has had any experience with the brand or if there are any comments on the brand.
Thanks!

I have a '47 The Martin Tenor, since it doesn't have the F# key, I guess it must be a student model as well. Lera, I sure could use the alternate fingerings for F#.

The one with palm keys is an F lera. Nothing alternate about it. The first one is a Bb and you do not get an f by using this fingering. You don't even know what altissimo is, why did you post in this thread?
