If you feel you can easely hit all of notes on your sax. Then you could moove up.
If you cant get all of notes. Dont moove up.

Thanks for the help. I'm not hitting all the notes all the time so I guess I'll wait to change. Sometimes I get an air sound which drives me crazy. Nothing is sticking and I try to put my sax together the same way and mouth and jaw the same but I get that air sometimes. any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

try a 2.5, that should get some better sound and you should actually hit notes easier, sometimes the really thin reeds make you squeek, like a clarinet, and that is BAD.

basicly, a reed is bad when it looks bad, sounds bad. It's really a common sense thing. If the reed aint playen well, throw it out.

Thanks for the help. I am using Rico.
Concerning the last comment about if the reed looks bad throw it out, makes sense but I can get the airy sound sometimes with a new reed but not always.
