Hi,
I've been playing the bari now for a couple of years here in college and there's no specifically bari players in the faculty. I'm working on my upper register and altisimo range, but the sax just can't handle it. I can play the high F# easily, but the forked fingering for high G above that never ever comes out, no matter how much air i put into it. Also any tips on notes higher than that for bari???? does it have an altisimo range at all? Could the sax itself be a problem in producing these tones? My teachers refer to my sax as a better boat anchor than an instrument so I'm not entirely sure if that could be an issue too.
well ive been playing da bari sax for 3yrs n im in 9th grade i hit note prettly well with no prob but wen u hit a high g im thinkn ur tlkn bout the g with the octave key so make sure the reed is at the same level as the tip of the mouthpiece n relax but not too much as if you were playing a blues riff a lil tight but not too much so u dont like skweak it happens to me sometimes then i do wat i explained n it works so try that n let me no
