I have made a few posts about this before, but if your new to altissimo, it is much more than a fingering, in fact fingers are only an assist. You need to learn about the overtone series before you get started in this more advanced study. Some books you should look at are Eugene Rousseau's "Saxophone High Tones" (my favorite, because he discusses altissimo for each sax), "Voicing" by Donald Sinta (arguably the best player in the altissimo register) and Denise Dabney, and Rashers "Top Tones" (only covers fingerings for alto). You really should study with one of these books, or with a private teacher, if you try to just start playing without knowing how to voice, you will get into a habit of biting very hard on your mouthpiece, which could eventually lead to damage in your lower lip. I don't want to discourage you, altissimo is a great tool for our saxophone !*****!nal, but we just have to know how to use it correctly.
hey how can i get my fingers faster i just started when school started how can i get faster because i am gonna go in jazz band and i dont now if would be agie to keep up
To actually play faster you need to start slower. Take things very slow and even, and slowly add speed. You're trying to make things very clean, with no additional notes speaking. Slowly add speed until you're at your goal speed. If you try to play it all fast right away, you miss notes and it doesn't sound clean at all. It's also partly muscle memory and taking it slow will help.
