ok then....
but yeah, tenor IS the best sax. You know i switch instruments almost every year because i dont like it or my band director says "i need a tuba" or "i need a clarinet" (yeah right)
but now i think i found my true love.

THE SAXOPHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE! (tenor)

Tenor is the best. I love the way it sounds and it rocks in JAZZ! (my opinion: it has the best sounding range too!)

Tenor is the best. Bari sax is too low in my opinion. It is a fun instrument, but not as cool as the tenor. Soprano is like the Bari, but a little better. I guess I prefer too high to too low. The alto is just okay. Better than most other instruments, but a good bit worse than tenor. I rank it with bari.

I am totally amazed that this conversation is even taking place. While we may prefer playing a specific horn, there is a place for them all and no one is better than the other.

That's a really hard question to answer!

I absolutely love all of them! Though tenor has my favorite sound... So I'll have to go with it.

I think the Alto is better. Trying to learn how to play soprano, alto, and tenor. But the tenor suits me fine.

Thanx

Never played any of them before, but I'm going to learn tenor soon, so I'll have to say tenor for now, soprano has always sounded upbeat and jazzy, but tenor has that nice, mellow, human quality much like the violas of the strings. BUT! The beautiful Sax solo from the "L'Arlesienne" suite by Georges Bizet could only be played by an alto.

well it deprends on the player and player preference, but my opinion is the tenor, like u said, more mellow warm sound, and can play REALLY load if u want to, lol

i have only personally played soprano alto and tenor, but out of those i love the soprano!!
out of the ones i HAVN'T played, i think the soprillo is awsome if it is with an orchestra or with other LOW instruments, i heard a treo of sporillo's and also a soprillo with alto, and didn't like them, but with orchestras they sound great
