Greeting Friends

I was just given a Conn Tenor Saxophone with the serial number of 924213 and the lettering 16M stamped above the serial number. Can anyone tell me any information about it? What is the value? I was thinking about having it re-lacquered, because much of the lacquer is worn off. What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Silverlions

I don't have a lot of experience with pricing conns. I see them sell between $400 and $700 depending on year and condition. I would suggest posting on a more "veteraned" forum like http://forum.saxontheweb.net.
I wouldn't suggest relaquering as it will generally depreciate the value of the horn and could even screw up the horn if it is done badly.

I agree with asound. Relacquering will make the horn look better, but that's it. Be glad that you have a good old horn that sounds good and has some character.
