hey,
my sax broke the bit that u tighten the crook with and i asked my music techer and he said it might be a weak part of the sax so im woundering if it is a weak part?

They come in different diameters, different threads, different size wings, and possibly different manner of manufacture (eg forged or cast; thread rolled or cut).
The strength can vary a lot, depending on these things.
However they should not break during NORMAL use.
It is FAR more likely to break if the unthreaded hole does not line up with the (female) threaded hole. This is quite likely on a cheap brand sax. Is it a cheap brand sax?
Also, some people screw it in from the wrong side, so that it is impossible for it to clamp, and then tighten it with pliers until it breaks !!!!!!!
If it is knocked, especially if it partly unscrewed at the time, it will easily break.
If you screw it up (especially tight) while the neck is not inside the body, it can more easily break. This should NEVER be done.
A good technician can easily remove the broken-off stump, and replace it.
