I just started playing the alto sax for jazz band and I was wondering wut size read i should start with (i have never used a reed before cuz i play the flute) thankx :D

First of all, welcome to the world of saxophones!! But more importantly, great choice choosing the alto (you can refer back to the "Battle of the Saxes" post if you have no idea what I'm talking about)!!
I'd start with a size 1 reed then increase by 1/2 sizes when needed. Try starting with Rico reeds; they're great when starting to play the sax.

try anyting from #1-#3.
buy a packs with diffrent reeds and see what works best for you.
