Hey there
I was wondering if someone could give me some advice. i already have an alto sax (that i love) that i've played for about 4 years and looking for a tenor sax to go with this.
But maybe i should get a really good alto...
so if anyone has any ideas/advice i would really appreciate it thanks.

So... would you rather play the tenor or the alto cause if its the alto go for a better alto but if you want both go with the tenor you'r choice

I play the Tenor Sax and its a cool instrument. Usually experts will say to start on Alto since its really basic and then move on to Tenor but with 4 years of experience, it shouldn't be a problem.
If you're planning to get a Tenor Sax, I will tell you this, the music may not be as fast and exciting as Alto and the low notes may be a little hard, especially if they're stecato notes.

I think for beginners, it is mainly bnecause an alto is cheaper and lighter.

And because in a class, it is far easier for all concerned if they are all playing the same size sax.
