Hey everybody. At my school, my director and I were looking through our instrument closet for things to be repaired. While in there we found a vintage (1930's-ish) Conn Saxophone. We looked it over, and it'll work just fine. The only problem is that the neck is gone. A friend and I tried a few different necks (Selmer, Jupiter, Beuscher) but couldn't quite get a fit. So Here's a question. Does anybody know where I can find a neck for this thing? Thanks for anything.

This is a very specific question and you probably need to get to some searches on Conn Saxes. A good repair guy would know what might work. Also, a neck can be adjusted (within reason, to fit a sax. I have a few loose necks that have been adjusted. Again, a good repaiman would know all about that too.

Gumball,
I agree with SaxBoy. That sounds like a job for a hip saxophone repair guy. I don't know your location but there is a sax guy near you that know's his stuff. I am pretty sure that the Conn instrument company is of businees but there are a lot of those horns still bouncing around.
I am quite sure your repair guy can tell you what's practical, what will work, and even if it's worth his and your time to mess with it. He may just say get a Yamaha.
You can't go wrong in taking it to an expert and getting the verdict.
regards,
Don
