400 and below... i know anything that much can't be good, but like i said, i'm not even going to get lessons, i'm just going to teach myself using my clarinet experience.

Ooh, be careful with that, the fingerings and embouchure on the sax are different from the clarinet. If you know any saxophonists, get them to show you the correct embouchure. Sometimes I find myself using my clarinet embouchure on my sax. It makes it "chirp" a lot. It can get really frustrating.

if you live in the UK, try renting one from sax.co.uk. I,m currently doing that... costs from £75 for 3 months.. pretty good value....
