Wow, it's been a while since coming here. Well anyway, this is in regarding to a question about buying a saxophone. Well, as you may know, I'm currently in the trumpet forum but I'll ask here anyways. I wanted to buy a sax for my brother because he likes the way it sounds and he wants to learm how to play it (cause his birthday coming up soon) and I was wondering if this sax is a good one for him? The link is: http://www.wwbw.com/Prelude-by-Conn-Selmer-Student-Alto-Saxophone-i268047.music
If you can't click on the link then I'll suggest you can copy it. Well as for my next question is, I have never bought anything online and I would like to know if this site is not a ripe off or a scam? And if some of you bought anything from there? Thanks for those who've tried to help me and thanks for responding

Hello,
Any saxophone under $3000 is going to need a service even if its brand new.
Alot of factory's make keys a little bit off so they arent air tight, it doesnt mean the brand is dodgy, just means it was made by a machine.

Also the saxophone is a good instrument to start on because its a hell of a lot easier to start than other woodwinds and i have to admit they are a hell of a lot better.
If your brother is going to teach himself to play the sax, make sure you get a starting book which shows mouth position.

Hi once again. Sorry for the delayed reply, but I had a family crisis. My cousin just died about two weeks ago and I had to go to his funerals and the cementary, so yea it's been a hard and the most difficult month for me . Anyway 'turn', I called the place where they had the sax at the website and I just ordered one for my brother and I spoke to someone and I told him that he's 14 yrs old and I then I told him that I don't think he needs some expensive sax because then he won't take good care of it, so they told me for him to start on that sax. And 'lera', thanks for the advice on the adjustment but I don't think It'll be necessary for me to do that. Anyway, thanks as always I appreciate your cooperation and kind replies and may both of you have a blessed and happy easter holiday.
