So i've been playing for three years and I think i'm good for my age. I play a Yamaha YAS62II Pro sax. I'm on the Yamaha 4C mouthpiece but I want a better sound. I've been considering a beechler but not positive. If you guys could ive me any recomendations or pointers I will gladly thank you.

How ironic, i have the exact same sax that you have! Im currently using a Eugene Rousseau NC5. Beechler, i haven't had much experience with those. But if your going for a very flexible sound, try the Eugene Rousseau, and even the Selmer Soloist (C**) is worth a buy.

A Selmer Mouthpiece would definetly be the best choice for concert band and solos. (S80 C* or Soloist C* are the best). If you are looking for a good jazz mouthpiece, the Meyer 7 is a great choice

Weird... I had this exact same dilemma last year.

First off, you have a great horn. The 62II is so versatile. I love it!! The 4C that's included with all the Yamaha saxes is a good starter mouthpiece, but it'll only take you so far. Meyer is a great jazz mouthpiece. I play with a Meyer (with a tip opening of 5) and pair it with a Vandoren ZZ jazz reed. I'm able to get a great rich loud tone from it. For classical, I use the Selmer C * with a Vandoren reed. It's great for playing quietly and smoothly in classical pieces. The Selmer C* is a very popular mouthpiece. The only thing I have a problem with is switching between the two; the Selmer C* isn't very wide and doesn't require much air...the Meyer is the complete opposite.

I suggest going to your local music store and trying some mouthpieces out.
