How many bands do you guys have in your schools, WE have 3 ,concert band, jazz band and middel school band .I`m in all of them, but in concert band I`m fist clarinet. Do any of you play clarinet too?

i got my ahnds on some blues backgrouns but messing around on there only provides so much pleasure :S
my school has 4 bands (and two choirs)
stage A, stage B, concert and symphonic
i`m in concert and B stage (boooooring :S) and need some good jazz solo/soloing improvement techniques

Ok, i have the solution to your problems on jazz solo`s......buy an Aebersold....it`s 15.00-20.00 comes with background music, you can solo for hours.

Hey I play the alto and bari sax and I am at the end of my 7th grade year. I love both, but the bari is really awesome. I was going to play the tenor but i didnt want to learn new fingerings, lol. Let me know if you find free alto or bari music THANKS!

I`m in 7th grade but play in a school band with 11th and 12th graders (I play tenor). We play awesome songs like Bad to the Bone (My brother, an 8th grader, who plays alto in the same band, has a solo in that song), Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and The Blues Brothers Revue. It was a little challenging at first but now we all can play them with our eyes closed. Just wanted to share. Later

Hi I am in the 7th grade 12 years old I play the Alto and Bari Sax I have 1rst chair for my band and also in All City Band.The music we plkay is interesting but very easy

playing sax for long now ,i advice you to work with cello fugues of Bach transcribed for alto sax
this is madness and help working the whole range of the instrument (usefull for scales and intervals)

Hey graduation is coming soon...for our school the eighth graders play a little song to show off i guess!! I need suggestions on an easy but cool song to play...im guessing level 2?! I can play really hard stuff but there are other ppl who aren`t as good! thanx for the help...

i just ended my 10th grade year, if you want something challenging try rock music, usually it has lots of runs. my band plays 5 music, and i sleep through it, our school has 7 bands, jazz, concert(lowest full band), wind ensamble(highest full band), marching band, woodwing choir, flute choir, brass choir. i play tenor and baril sax, im ver capable of playing them all, since they all have the same fingerings just different key. i know im not the best, but i feel im pretty good. if anyone wishes tocontact me personally e-mail me at pachojr05@yahoo.com thanks
