hey guys
what`s the hardest sax piece you ever bumped into, or played?
I`m thinking of two, Concerto by Glazunov, I`m trying to play it from time to time, learning parts by parts, eventually I hope I will be able to play it in my final exam, two years from now .

second option is my youth orchestra part, Dyonisaqes (or something like that) by Florent Schmitt, we played it last year in an international contest for orchestras, came in 2nd after the royal danish orchestra, and they were all grown ups we were all teenagers . nice trip to Austria and Switzerland though, I`m from Israel by the way.

yet, I think the concerto is tougher.

Having given this some serious thought, I would say that "Con Alma", a jazz piece written by Dizzy Gillespie which I played in big band last year, has to be the most technically challenging piece I have ever played. Second place is "Cute", an incredibly fast big band arrangement of the original slow version. I don`t remember the names of either the arranger or the composer, but if anyone does, that would be great.

Are you serious!!! I LOVE Carnival of Venice, it`s awesome. First it`s just the traditional song, then it goes really fast pace, then slow and sad then just brilliant.

Anyways, hardest piece would have to be...ummmm either Recycled Blues or Queen, an AWFULLY fast and articulate piece.
