A week ago didn`t know what a note was. Bought a Hohner recorder via the Internet, but it had a crack in it so returned it for another one. Some questions:

1. It`s 12 inches long and has 7 finger holes plus a thumb hole. Is it a soprano recorder.

2. instructions say not to use more than 10 minutes at a time for 1st 2 weeks and to use high quality linseed oil. Should I immediately apply the linseed oil? How do I apply it? Rub with my fingers and pour it in all the holes and shake it out? Can I buy linseed oil at Home Depot or doess it need to be better kind? Also, how often should the cork oil be applied? Where can I get more cork oil?

Anything else you can tell me would be great. Much thanks!!!

It is soprano. It must be wood, with that oil. I have no experience with wood recorders or linseed oil. I do know that you need to apply the cork grease whenever it`s tough to assemble the instrument.
