I have what looks like a recorder but I can't be sure as to what its even called and was hoping if someone knows what it may be. It's made of wood but very shiny about a foot long and has 6 holes and one on the bottem of it and it VERY hard to get a sound out of it, it also what it looks to say (I may very well be wrong)but it says AMMA. I've had it for probably 4 years but haven't been able to really even get a sound out of it. If you know of any websites that might help that be nice to. Thank you very much!!!!

If you put up a picture of it then we could all look and have our opinions, but judging from your description it sounds like a type of fipple flute (I think it's fipple, not sure) which is kind of a flute where instead of playing it horizontally you play it in a similar position as how you would play recorder.

If it doesnt have a thumb hole in the back it might not be a recorder. A picture would help..
