hi everybody
i have a hugh dillema or even somthing that kinda bothers me a
little
everybody tells me that to be a good musician you should start at an early age the eralyer the better
and i started singing just about two years ago and i was 21 yrs old
although i have heard music while i was a child at home but
i heavnt sang then and now i am expierancing problems with been musically(rythem, stayin in tune and on the right scale)

so is it true that all the good musicians started their musical skills at the very early ages and everyone that didnt just didnt become a real good known musician?

(by the way someone told that jim morrison also worked hard to sing good cause he didnt sang while he was younger is it true?

ok so last time i replyed to one of your post i think i said to you don't stress about your music (the one about the fascist voice coach te he)...it sounds to me like your stressing again!!!! anyway yeah i suppose it helps to start music earlier (there are studies that show that the brain is much better at learning things when it is younger. this is particularly true with language, don't know about music but it wouldn't supprize me)

so where was i, i got a bit lost...oh yeah...by listening to music when you were younger you were (albeit subconsiously) learning about music and learning about scales and intervals in music. and hey the important part is that you are practising now.

i have always sung...but i have only been singing for about 2 years (hope that makes sense). i'm a !***! singer but i have fun with it...i have enough control over my voice to make a the right notes and for me i think that is enough hey look at bob dylan (who i personally think is a genius!!!!) he couldn't even hold the right note most of the time, but he has a phenomanal voice because he puts emotion across in his songs

i know that what's important is to practice now and i do have some problems with my music as you can see i had all those thoughts that i'm not good enough but my teacher also told me that it takes time to grown ups to learn somthing that youngers can learn faster so along with your advice i think i'll start have some fun with my voice and my music like i did when i discovered them at the first time and i hope that in time my technice will improve
thank you for your reply(s)

being a natural musician is not about starting younger. it is about having natural empathy with the music. it sounds very much to me like you are far too stressed about being a musician- enjoy your music and youll defenitley reap more benefits.
