Just wondered if anyone new the term used to describe 'spoken voice'. In music we were told what it was, and that we had to learn it, but I can't remember what it was!!

I've tried looking on the internet, but it didn't come up with anything, so if anyone knows or has any idea's of what it could be I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. I remember it begins with 'S' and it's a foreign word. I'd know it if I saw it!!

Thanks,

Laura

Hi -

A couple of terms used to denote the spoken voice are "parlando" (literally, "speaking" in Italian) and "Sprechstimme" (German for "speaking voice"). Are either of those your word?
