Warbling Sopranos

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum, but I've got a question I need to sort out. I am a soprano who has a pure tone, but can produce vibrato if needed. I can turn it off when I am choir singing.
I recently sang Vivaldi's Gloria withn a huge choir, but I was astounded that the young soloists sang with such wobble they sounded 80 years old!! Is this right to do this? My teacher (who has had a distingished career and also has a doctorate in her study of the voice) says that if you are young, you should sing young, as the wobble will get worse and you can ruin your voice by your 30's. But as the soloists were RCM trained surely they must be doing the right thing? I'm really confused as to whether I should be working to develop a warble in my voice, or is it a potentally damaging side effect of pushing a voice too far, too young?

I need advise as I have a large range, and want to sing opera. I need to know how I can make the most of my voice, and sound like a quality singer.
