Personally composing music's easy for me, but what's it like for you? It feels very natuarall for me, and I know what the chords are meant to be instantly.

Sometimes I find it extremeley difficult to focus on one piece of music. Most often, those pieces go unfinished. I do, however, sometimes have times when I am bitten by the "composing bug" and put forth masses of new compositions within a couple weeks. It pretty much depends on what kind of mood I'm in.

Composing is very simple for me because I most of the time improvise. People say that I am very good at improvisation.

For me the music just pops in my head, but not being able to write it is difficult. I have to rely on other musicians for that. Many times lyrics come to me, but mostly at nite when I'm almost asleep, so if I don't write it down immediately, it's lost forever.

I do find composing a little hard. I often start songs and never finish them. I can't improvise, as I've only been playing the piano for a few months and as yet don't know enough about chords, scales, arpeggios and stuff to have the knowledge to be able to improvise. But I do love writing songs, and I hope with time and practise I'll get better at it!!
Anyone have any tips for improvisation??

Whether or not it's hard depends on if I have writer's block or not. Sometimes it flows and sometimes it freezes. Drumline music is about the only thing that I can constantly do well, everything else depends upon my mood and tought paterns.
