I am at the sydney conservatorium of music high school, my major passion is conducting and composition and musicology (which goes with conducting) and i have studied with many composers and conducters. But i am looking for oppertunities to conduct an orchestra or ensemble (eg choir or band), I was wondering if anybody knew of any oppertunities (even if they are small) to conduct.

Community bands might be a good way to start. Perhaps if you contact the NSW Bands league, or visit their website to take note of any bands requiring conductors, or even if they have any beginner/development programmes that require conductors
