In order to make PDF or Midi files, you have to pay for software. However, I have a feeling that all you want to do is print and listen to your compositions. If you have Finale Notepad, you can print your compositions' scores' (though it is pretty easy to copy and paste to make parts-- after all, it is free), and listen to your composition on the computer (no Midi files).

If you want to get Finale Notepad, it's a free download, just google to find it... it's some long address that I can't remember.
