I luv to write music!
I only have one problem.
When it comes to adding lryics (if and when I want to), I don't know how to exactly write the lyrics down.
They're all in my head.
Just when you write then down, is there a certain format you have to do in it like with some forms of poetry?
If there is, could you please tell me!
Idk, I usually (when I do, which is rarely) write the lyrics to a harmonic and rythmic pattern first. And then write an accompaniment to it. Have you taken any music theory?
Your lyric phrases and musical phrases have to line up. The structure of the lyrics depends somewhat on the genre you are writing in. For example, in blues the first two lines are the same in every verse.
i was looking for somone to write about frazing. that is the key to matching lyrics to melody. it dosen't matter which comes first(words or music) or what form either one is in, alsong as they match up in the end.
lyrical frazes have to match musical frazes, if you have lyrics or a poem, one stanza is a fraze, musical frazes are simply in seporate idias. never have the two intersecting or it won't sound good
put the right silibled words under the right silibled notes
for example you can't use a three silible word for a whole note. it has to be used for three quarter notes or 3 eigth notes, combinations of notes(2 eigth notes and a quarter note, half note and two quarter notes).........or something like that. look in church song books,or hyms to get an idia of what i'm talking about
Actually a stanza is the same as a verse. If you look at lyrics on paper they are usually written in lines like a poem. Those lines are phrases (99% of the time). The phrases follow the natural pattern of speech and breath.
