If anyone can help, I would be grateful. I have scoured the help topics - when a piece has an upbeat and you want to repeat back to the beginning - the bar you repeat from and the upbeat should equal the time sig yes? Well if you are in 2 4, with a quaver upbeat - how do you only have a dotted quaver in the repeat bar and a quaver beat in the 'bar' after the repeat?

That would probably be really complicated to do in Finale. What I would do would be to finish off the last measure with the your pickup notes from the beginning, and have it repeat back to the first full measure, rather than the upbeat. That would be much easier.
