Chances are, it's been too long for anyone to remember this topic. Sorry, computer's been broken. Anyway, I've decided that a brass insturment will have to wait until after high school. Thanks for all the posts, though!

I would have to say, possibly out of prjudice, maybe not, that the best starting brass instrment would be T.C> baritone or a euphnium, simply because their ragnes are low enough to compete with a uba or other low-brass instrument, but also high enough to play cornt parts and even some 2nd or 3rd trumpet lines. There's realy only one difference between the two instruments, and that is that a Baritone is more tubular, whereasa Euphonium is conical, whichprodouces a mush smoother, mleower tone. The problem with starting on a french horn is that yo read in a completly far-out key compared to the rest of the band, so if you ever consider switching over later, you run inton some serious music-reading problems.

In he end it realy is up to youo, but whatever you do, DO NOT start on trombone, because its a real pain toswitch to anything with valves (namelly any other brass instrument)

I already posted my decision a while ago...: I'm sticking with pit and starting a brass after high school. I'm playing too many instruments already to be starting another that is in a different instrument family.
