My band director told me a few days ago that I should find a French horn method book to use. My private teacher recommended Rubanks Advanced Method Book, and I was wondering if there were any other good ones out there that werent just the beginning method books.

I found this website the other day. It's great because it lists all the books & literature that are used in the University of Mississippi horn department. The first course, preparatory horn (100), is actually pre college level and is probably what you should start with. (Farkas, Getchell & Clarke's plus scales.)

I found this list very interesting becuase it's basically the same books that I went through during my first year of private lessons. Valerie in Tacoma

I checked out some of the books listed there. I think I'll have to put some of them on my wish list. It looks like there's some good book there to look at. Thanx!
