I was thinking about trying out for the community orchestra where I live (Wooster, OH), and I wanted to get some oppinions on how you'd think it would work. I probably won't be able to do anything until the end of the school year, but I'm going to go ahead and ask my band director about it now so I'm not in the dark right up until the last minute.
And pleeeeeaaaase don't not respond, I'd like to hear more than a couple of people on this.
P.S. Has anyone seen "Wicked"? The broadway show about the witches of Oz? I just saw it this last Friday and it was WICKED!!! (there isn't any other word good enough in my vocabulary to describe it) It's the first broadway show I've ever seen and I'd like to know what other people thought of it (our whole band and choir went to NYC and saw it, we all thought it was great!!!)

Check their recent concert programmes so you get an idea of how often they perform and the music they play. (I could find something about Wooster, OH Concert Band on the Internet but not the Symphony Orchestra).
It will probably be good experience even if its not your taste of music ...
