Looking to upgrade my son's French Horn. He currently has a Paxman Academy F/Bb full double. Any suggestions on a decent horn but doesn't break the bank?

Hard to know what size the bank is.

You could stick with Paxman. The Series 4 is considered an intermediate horn, the Series 5 is considered professional. Both, if you are buying new, are pretty good values for what you are getting. Since you have a Paxman already, and I assume you are planning on trading. Building on your current relationship with a dealer isn't a bad thing.

There are so many options in used that it's just beyond being able to deal with it here.
