It is nice to know that even a longtime music professor at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music would forsake classical music long enough to release a CD of synthesizer-based space music because that is where his heart lies. This is exactly what pianist and keyboardist Stephen Savage did with his album, FUTURE MEMORY.
Savage says he is energized by space music, ambient and avant-garde. There is some piano heard on the recording (and occasional real drums or percussion), but the bulk of the music is made with synthesizer. This is a mesmerizing new CD with lots of movement, sonic-bending interludes and plenty of material setting the controls for the heart of the sun.
