I am not a composer, but I like musicals.
For me, what is most important, is the music in it. Inspired music, one that most people can remember and hum on their way back from the theater.
The story, staging, sppecial effects and all the rest come after this.
And I am convinced that it is the quality and inspiration of the music what makes a musical a long term success or possibly a failure.
