What's your guys' favorite musical and why? Just wondering out of curiousity because I'm just a curious person...I'll start:
My favorite musical by far is WICKED. This sounds a lil cheezy, but the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda is like REALLY close to like the relationship between me and my sister! We are SOOO different but we still love each other! She acts just like Glinda and is "popular" and likes clothes ALOT and is always wanting to dress me up! I'm just like Elphaba, I'm out of the "group" and I kinda march to the sound of my own drum like Elphaba does so to say...I like to "Defy Gravity" whenever I feel that the world doesn't want me to succeed in life. LOL
The song "For Good" describes the way I feel about me and my best friend Saiti. She has changed me in a good way...she has made me a stronger person when she has been there for me when I needed her the most and when I was there for her when she needed me the most. We have been "changed for the better" because we know and love each other. LOL So basically I like WICKED because it's my life story in a nut shell.
I had the great pleasure and joy of going and seeing it live in Indianapolis a few weeks ago. It literally changed my life in musical theater FOREVER! The woman that played Elphaba in the Broadway version I saw was sooo good! She was even better than Idina Menzel in the original Broadway group on the CD!!! I liked the person that played Glinda alot but I still like Kristin Chenoweth ALOT too! *~Just a little info about me...I'm related to Kristin Chenoweth!!...well atleast I think so. She's like a really distant cousin on my mom's side!!! =]~* LOL
So everyone that's out there and are in LOVE with musicals, what's your favorite musical and why??
This is a bit obscure, but Rock Apocalypse is my current fav. When it's done right it's amazing. Very funny, music is great, lyrics funny as hell, story exciting, and its all pretty gross come the end! I like Wicked too! I don't even know why though. I've only heard some of the songs and seen a bit of the beginning of the show on Youtube. I don't even know the story!
I really like wicked too! I saw it a few years ago and thought it was great! It is my favorite musical. I also really like The Music Man, because I get to be in the pit orchestra for it this year lol.
I really enjoyed being in the pit for "Thoroughly Modern Millie". It's a great show with great music. I also really like "The Secret Garden" and "West Side Story".
Definately WICKED! Saw it about a year ago and I haven't stopped listening to the soundtrack since! Saw it in Australia, and Lucy Durack was Glinda, I reckon she did it even better than the original cast.
Don't suppose you have any of the sheet music for horn or piano?
Welllll...i have the piano sheetmusic but I transpose all my music for my horn myself. If you want, I can transpose it to horn for you and try to email it?? Let me know what you think.
If its not too much trouble that would be great!! However, if it's gonna take you forever to do it, I could try just playing the piano music ( I've found piano music goes quite well for horn in the past lol)
