Hey, ive recently taken up Sax and was wondering if anybody had any ideas of some really Jazzy or Funky pieces that i should get hold of? As flute is my first instrument, i`m not really used to playing Jazz, even though i think it`s awesome, so if you have any pieces that you feel are best played on Alto/Tenor/Sop Sax then please let me know! Thank you!

Aftershock is a good piece, as well as Soul Trane.

Probably the two most popular jazz funk tunes are Herbie Hancock`s Chameleon and Freddie Hubbard`s Red Clay. If you get the albums they`re on you could easily pick out the melodies and chord progressions. If not, then I could just tell them to you. Anyways, the albums these tunes are on are Head Hunters (Herbie Hancock) and Red Clay (Freddie Hubbard). Good luck.
