I am an architecture student at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK....we currently have a major design project to create a Jazz Club in the town of Market Harborough....

...I am seeking advice on what features suit performers of Jazz? What are the best spaces youve played in or watched jazz in? What makes them the best? Are there any clubs you would recommend I look at for a good atmosphere/vibe/relationship with audience? Any quirks in clubs / bars that sick in your memory?

Jazz as background? Or performance at the forefront? Lighting? Low ceilings? Intimacy?
