Hi, I'm trying to make a chord chart for the song Come away with me, by Norah Jones. I'm kind of a newbie at this, and i'm having trouble mapping out the structure of the song. I'm trying to do it in 2 pages or less using repeats and such. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!
I'm in the middle of something so I can't give you a detailed response, but ...
Think "A-A-B-A", twice. Solo is over two A's; vox in again on B (the "bridge" in jazz-standard terminology). Watch the ending. Here's the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBKcKQHZXks
NB – the good news: even if you wrote the whole thing out "end-to-end", it's still only 70-odd 3/4 bars. Of course, normally you'd try to keep the chart concise. On occasion, say when you're transcribing exact piano or guitar figures or whatever, you have to go with the long form.
Let's know how you go. I'll check things out in a few days.
