You can`t argue that Pearl Jam`s the most popular USA band of our time because of promotion either - The fact is, Pearl Jam made less music videos than AIC, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, & just about anyone else - Pearl Jam did it purely on music alone... Secondly, I saw the Vh1 list & know what you`re refering to - HOWEVER, that VH1 list is about 6 years old... The USA Today list is just last year... Things changed.

Blah blah blah moron - A few years ago, Rolling Stone magazine came out with the 10 best bands ever - Pearl Jam was number 7... Nirvana wasn`t in the top 10 - Whether PJ beats Nirvana or Nirvana beats PJ, it all depends on who writes the article, its usually one persons opinion - In USA Today, it was thousands of opinions, what`s more accurate?

Oh & by the way, I wouldn`t exactly call that Rolling Stone magazine article "accurate" - First off you`re making a point that Pearl Jam is unranked....
