Hey guys, I was just wondering whether there were any really good melodic-metal bands that don't have the death screaming. Seriously, I LOVE the melodic heaviness sound of bands like Opeth or In Flames, but the vocals ruin it for me. So, can any of you recommend some good bands?

The ones already metioned.
Pantera (pretty heavy but not much "grunt")
Rage Against the Machine if you would conscider them metal.
System of a Down (some of their songs just crack me up)
Anthrax (a mix of metal and rap but in a good way)
tats all I can think of now.

Dude I agree with you Melodic metal can be soo cool, but the un-melodic death growl ruins it for me.
Gotta add
Within Temptation (some of their early work has some death growl )
Sonata Arctica
Nightwish
